Multi Skilled Engineer

Contract: Professional Services, Production & Technology

Location: Motherwell, ML1 4WQ (travelling across Scotland / North East England)

We are seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer to join our facilities management team, delivering high-quality maintenance and engineering support across multiple client sites.

While most of the work will be PPM, you'll also respond to occasional reactive issues to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations for our clients.

Job Description

This is a mobile role offering a varied workload, with travel between sites to carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and general building services tasks.

You'll take responsibility for a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring all equipment performs efficiently and in line with agreed standards. The role also involves basic fabric and HVAC maintenance, contractor supervision, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

Working independently and as part of a wider engineering team, you'll represent the company professionally, uphold high service standards, and help drive continuous improvement across all sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete electrical PPM, reactive, and proactive maintenance tasks within agreed timeframes.
  • Carry out additional building services maintenance, including basic fabric, HVAC, and mechanical work.
  • Provide callout response on a rota basis and support out-of-hours requirements as needed.
  • Oversee contractor activities, ensuring safe systems of work and issuing Permits to Work where required.
  • Ensure all equipment within scope operates efficiently and meets performance criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records, job sheets, and documentation in line with company procedures.
  • Take a proactive approach to client liaison and resolve issues promptly or escalate where appropriate.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • Fully electrically qualified with 18th Edition, NVQ or City & Guilds Electrical Installations, and AM2.
  • F-Gas certification or mechanical qualification preferred (or vice versa).
  • Experience in providing electrical building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance, and installations.
  • Previous experience delivering both reactive and PPM maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and customer focused.
  • Comfortable travelling between multiple sites.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (required for this mobile role).
