Job summary

A global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for their Hull facility. This full-time role involves diagnosing faults, performing maintenance, and providing engineering support. Candidates should have experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, strong electrical and mechanical skills, and preferably hold relevant electrical qualifications. Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer seeking a technically challenging role within a high‑performing manufacturing environment? Our client, a global manufacturing organisation, is expanding their Engineering team at their Hull facility. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Engineering Manager, delivering robust maintenance solutions to ensure optimum plant performance across a modern production site.

Working Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for maintaining, fault‑finding, and improving a wide range of production machinery and supporting infrastructure to maximise efficiency, reliability, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on production equipment to minimise downtime
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules
  • Completing reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs across the site
  • Supporting the installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant and machinery
  • Investigating recurring faults and implementing long‑term technical solutions
  • Updating CMMS maintenance records and coordinating with suppliers for spare parts
  • Working closely with OEMs and manufacturers to resolve complex technical issues
  • Ensuring all work complies with current health, safety, and statutory requirements
  • Providing engineering support outside of core hours, including overtime when operational demands require
The Candidate
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Strong electrical bias with solid mechanical fault‑finding capability
  • 17th Edition qualification (18th Edition desirable)
  • Practical knowledge of PLC systems, including fault diagnosis and basic interrogation
  • Ability to work methodically under pressure within a fast‑paced production setting
On Offer
  • Permanent, full‑time role: 8:30am‑5:00pm Monday to Thursday, with an early finish on Friday
