The MRO Tool Store Operative role is designed to provide direct control and supervision of tools and aircraft equipment required during Aircraft Maintenance, Major Repairs and Modification work of aircraft transferred to Boeing.

Responsibilities

The Operations Tool Store Operative is accountable to the Operations Manager/s for the Issue, Control and Maintenance of all tooling and ground support equipment within a defined area of responsibility. Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintain a register of movement of all hand tools, test and measuring equipment (TME) and Precision Termination Tools (PTT).
  • Implement the calibration requirements of TME and PTT.
  • Ensure controlled issue and return of all tools.
  • Maintain and administer access to the Tool Control System and application i.e. CribMaster and undertake the relevant Tool Control System training.
  • Request from Tool Custodian tool asset number for all tools and ensure proper markings of the tools.
  • For ensuring all loan tooling arriving on site are brought to the attention of the Operations Tool Store Lead, for such tooling to be receipted/registered on CribMaster, in line with the required tool control/calibration requirements.
  • Carry out daily open and close (or handover) checks on the main tool store and carry out regular periodic inventory management checks of all tool kits.
  • Purchase replacement/new tools as the business needs arise.
  • Carry out tool store actions for the U/S tool reporting process within this document.
  • Ensure all tools and TME and PTT that require Calibration are clearly marked with the details of the calibration, ensuring Tool Control System is also kept up-to-date.
  • Ensure toolkits contain an up-to-date toolkit folder (log book) as described in current document.
  • Quarantine all tools and TME that are damaged or out of calibration. If the tool cannot be placed in secure quarantine it should be clearly marked as unserviceable and prevented from use, whilst ensuring Tool Control System reflects this.
  • Carry out appropriate actions for the replenishment, control and management of FLAP accounts and provisions/stores/consumables.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • The ability to apply both technical knowledge and human factors (HF) knowledge, with regard to assessing the requirements against the individual tasks being undertaken.
  • A good communicator, with a demonstrable ability to communicate the technical work requirements to others.
  • Possesses knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, BDUK Part 145 MOE, aviation Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management System (SMS) and application of these requirements within their area of accountability, responsibility and authority.
  • Is capable of working and communicating with management levels, cross functional areas and the customer effectively.
  • Is capable and experienced in sequencing and controlling demanding workloads, on time, to budget and to the required standard.
