Grade: SLGLW1

Hours: 35 hours per week

Hourly Rate: £13.06 per hour

Salary: £23834.47 per annum

Contract Duration: Temporary until 28th February 2027

In accordance with Government Guidelines, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the Apprenticeship) to qualify for this position.

Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Scottish Borders Council as a Modern Apprentice providing business support to a team of Social Work professionals in the Public Protection Unit, Galashiels

Modern Apprenticeships provide an opportunity to learn while you work and offer an entry point into the employment market. As part of the apprenticeship you will be required to engage with a training provider to obtain the desired qualification of Business & Administration SCQF Level 6. Please note that you must be 16 at the start of the apprenticeship

As a Modern Apprentice within the Public Protection Unit, your duties will include:

  • Telephone Answering
  • Letter typing and distribution
  • Minute taking and distribution
  • Use of SBC applications such as Mosaic, Business World, Intranet, One Drive and Microsoft packages
  • Processing Police Concern Forms
  • Scanning and filing
  • Being first point of telephone/email contact to the public and Professionals
  • Monitoring of Team mailboxes
  • Completing Mosaic Incoming Work
