Overview
The Mobile Support Pest Technician is to provide support to the Pest Control Technician when either proactive or reactive pest issues are identified within stores, supermarkets, depots and living sites.
Responsibilities
- Carry out pest proofing and prevent and/or control pest infestation at allocated ASDA Stores and Distribution centres.
- Cover any planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits for pest control when required by the business and approved by the National Pest Control Manager or Pest Operations Manager.
- Respond promptly to genuine emergency call outs from the ASDA Helpdesk.
- Complete reports and communicate on a daily basis with store colleagues and line manager.
- Build good working relationships with ASDA and CITY work Colleagues.
- Take ownership of other pest related issues, i.e. cleaning/proofing, to resolve ongoing problems.
- Carry out on-site training with ASDA/CITY colleagues.
- Use pesticides in a safe and responsible manner as specified under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health.
- Maintain accurate Time Sheets and Mileage Logs as required.
- Maintain and keep vehicle and equipment supplied in good working condition.
- Ensure sign off of completed works by ASDA.
- Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the company.
- Work in a manner to support the achievement of company KPIs and the lowest cost to operate ethos.
- Ensure all systems are working to optimum energy efficiency.
- When required, support other engineering disciplines to provide flexibility to service delivery.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- All work is completed to high standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, while complying with the company Health and Safety policy.
- Carry out all tasks assigned within the allotted time period to the satisfaction of the company and client.
- Be proficient in written and verbal communication, report writing and recording procedures.
- Attend training courses as necessary and keep personal job skills current with technical and business developments.
- Ensure all mandatory Evolve online training modules are completed.
- Comply with Health and Safety at Work Act and the company’s Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Work with company and ASDA colleagues to maintain laid-down standards of quality at all times.
- Represent the company professionally and develop good working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- Comply with any other reasonable request or instruction from the City Management Team.
Financial Responsibility
- To carry out work in the most cost-efficient manner.
- No budgetary accountability.
People Responsibility
- To represent the company professionally and develop good working relationships with engineers, Supervisors, Operations Manager and Head of Department.
- To work with other technicians within the region / cell.
Qualifications
Professional/Academic/Vocational Qualifications
- Royal Society of Health Cert in Pest Control or British Pest Control Association Diploma Part 1 and 2.
- Bird proofing work.
- Fumigation services
- General building/fabrication skills
Specific Knowledge
- PC literate
- Experience within PEST control environment / industry
- Retail experience
