Engineering Supervisor
Job Overview

Responsible for performing a variety of tasks and skills to ensure the correct functioning and safety of the building M&E plant and equipment. You may also be required to carry out minor repairs and improvements to the building fabric and their assets.

Main Duties
  • Oversee and support the team with inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems. Responding to requests and reports of faults or breakdowns from facilities staff and clients in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist the team to install new equipment, and assist in the setup of other systems. Conducting regular checks and tests of the safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, emergency lighting, etc., and ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulations
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and spare parts, and report any issues or recommendations to the area manager
  • Follow a maintenance schedule and prioritise tasks according to urgency and importance
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment required for the role, and ensure they are in good working order and stored securely
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance engineers and supervisors, facilities staff and external specialists, providing guidance and support when needed
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and best practices in the field of maintenance, and attend training courses and carry out all relevant toolbox talks with the team
  • Take proactive responsibility of the building and the maintained assets within, to ensure we are working within the agreed SLA's and KPI's
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with all of the stakeholders internally and externally to ensure reliable communication
  • Carry out monthly building inspection with the client's building managers to ensure we are finding faults and working with the clients to resolve
  • Recruit, induct and develop talent in order to increase the effectiveness and performance of the team
  • Liaise with site security where required in advance of planned visits and comply with their instructions, maintaining key and site security
  • Overtime and expense management: collate all overtime and expense sheets submitted by staff, verify accuracy and completeness, process overtime returns, and ensure timely submission to the area manager for payroll submission
  • Expense review and authorisation: review staff expense claims to confirm compliance with company policies, approve valid submissions, and authorise payments within required deadlines
  • Coordinate with the team for procurement of parts, tools, and equipment
  • Provide support to the team and act as the primary channel for communicating information regarding the productivity report
  • Participate in the Health and Safety Policy of the company and report to the area manager regarding any dangers, hazards, or other defects/issues that may be encountered
