Overview
This is a field based, mobile position covering Electrical Supervisor across 7 sites. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Approved Electrician to join our growing engineering family. Our Skilled Engineers are employed on work that is appropriate to their core and specialist skills. They will, however, be expected to have / acquire elements of other skills which will enable them to work flexibly across trades. Suitable training and up-skilling may be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to perform the following (as detailed in responsibilities).
Working hours – Although the core working hours are 08:00 to 17:00, there may be a certain degree of flexibility depending on individual circumstances.

Responsibilities
- To be appointed as Authorised Person for electrical works on Mitie and client system
- Task Supervisor
- Line management of Engineering operatives. Induction, pre and post job briefing, technical advice and support, health and safety and performance management
- Plan and perform duties including planned and reactive maintenance of various buildings in our client’s portfolio (inspection and testing, emergency light testing, PAT testing, RCD testing, installation of new equipment or replacement/repair of lamps, sockets, etc.)
- Work on own initiative and within a team environment; assist other trades when required
- Deal with clients and suppliers with good written and verbal communication skills
- Be part of the on‑call rota and manage/communicate an effective emergency call out service for electrical operatives, ensuring out of hours support is arranged
- Carry out toolbox talks monthly with the team
- Support with audit requirements, stock takes, COSHH and Risk Assessment renewal
- Assist in sourcing materials and the correct subcontractors where required
- Ensure PIU data is monitored and extracted monthly
- Support the engineering team and carry out team meetings and 121s
- Provide a reactive and planned pro-active maintenance (PPM) service as per project requirements to all operational assets
- Provide a multi‑skilled maintenance service covering electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines
- Carry out modifications and installations as required
- Liaise with contractors or external suppliers and clearly communicate technical issues
- Ensure work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures
- Maximise availability of mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement, optimum performance, improved efficiencies and cost reductions
- Maintain equipment with sound diagnostic and problem solving skills; report defects to the shift supervisor promptly
- Maintain, repair and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise reliability and maintainability
- Provide a service that ensures all KPIs / SLAs are met
- Take ownership of tools and equipment and ensure they are maintained to an appropriate standard; report defects immediately
- Provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives
- Work safely and diligently; complete required paperwork and reports accurately and on time
- Complete required training and development to remain competent in the role
- Complete other duties as required by the Contract Manager or Management Team
- Flexibility in work hours to provide cover for holidays and sickness; participate in standby rota for emergency calls
- Familiarise with and support business continuity and the plan for the part of the business you work in
- Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Complete documentation as required, including RAMS, and adhere to all associated permits
- Provide excellent customer service to building occupants and communicate work order progress in a timely manner
- Proactively walk the floors, reporting maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager
Health & Safety
- Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times
- Report any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may affect service delivery, health and safety, or the environment
- Use all work equipment and PPE properly and in accordance with training
- Report issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via divisional incident reporting system
- Take personal responsibility for Health & Safety matters
- Review RAMs from subcontractors
- Escort contractors with no DBS as required
Experience and Qualifications
- Gas: NVQ Level 3 in Heating/Ventilation/Maintenance; COCN1 or CODNCO1 (domestic to commercial changeover) – Essential; CORT1, TPCP1A, CIGA1, CDGA1, ICPN1 – Desirable
- AC/HVAC: NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning/Maintenance – Essential; F Gas Qualification – Essential
- Electrical: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Apprenticeship – Essential; 18th Edition – Essential; 2391-52 Testing and Inspection – Essential
- Plumbing: NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing – Essential
- Must hold a full UK driver’s license
- Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer-based systems
- Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team
- Presentable in uniform and PPE
- Commitment to safety under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and related regulations
- HSE management in accordance with Quality Management System and legal requirements
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure work progresses are communicated
- Able to work right first time within predetermined timescales
