Job description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mobile App Developer who will report to the Director of Engineering. The Mobile App Developer will design state-of-the-art mobile app user experiences for Electric Vehicle charge points, primarily using React Native. You will work as a part of a cross-discipline engineering team developing IoT products comprising of firmware, hardware, cloud servers, mobile apps and websites. You will be responsible for the design and development of our bespoke mobile smartphone application delivering the most intuitive experience to our customers in respect of their charging of Electric Vehicles. You will have the opportunity to be involved in developing across platform applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mobile applications for Electric Vehicle charging points, primarily using React Native.
• Collaborate as part of a cross-discipline engineering team developing IoT products (firmware, hardware, cloud servers, mobile apps, and websites).
• Deliver an intuitive mobile experience for customers with respect to charging EVs and ensure cross-platform compatibility.
• Contribute to the end-to-end development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and integration with cloud services.

Qualifications

• A passion for technology
• At least 3 years of experience as an app developer
• Cross-platform experience is a distinct advantage
• Expert with React Native
• Experience with cloud servers and real-time databases such as GCP, Firebase, and AWS
• Understanding of agile product development practices and project management tools
• Experience using toolchains including Git, JIRA (or similar), and unit testing software
• Familiarity with home automation platforms and voice assistants such as Google Home and Alexa
• Experience with web development using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Familiarity with good UI/UX practices and ability to contribute to the design process
• Aptitude for problem solving
• Excellent verbal communication skills and strong command of English
• Ideally, have a keen interest in electric vehicles and the energy industry
• Be a great communicator

Location

Based in Stewartby (between Milton Keynes and Bedford), we manufacture our charge points in-house and have a team of highly qualified electricians to install our charge points across the UK.
