Job summary

A leading mining company in the United Kingdom seeks an Engineer: Mine Infrastructure to facilitate optimal extraction of gold ore. The role involves designing underground infrastructure and maintaining project schedules. The ideal candidate will have a relevant engineering degree, excellent communication skills, and substantial underground engineering experience. As part of this commitment, reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer: Mine Projects, you will be responsible for facilitating the optimal extraction of gold ore from mining operations through comprehensive infrastructure planning, design, scheduling and execution that achieves the business objectives. Invincible Underground is currently undergoing a significant growth phase with an ever‑expanding orebody open at both strike and depth. With complex geology, large‑scale capital projects and a dynamic mine design to adapt to, this role offers a rare challenge for candidates looking to make a difference and influence the future direction of a relatively new mine, in a rewarding environment.

This is an on‑site position with a roster of 8 days on 6 days off. Both residential and FIFO options are available.

What You’ll Do
  • Design and optimise underground mine infrastructure (multiple mines) to support the Life‑of‑Mine strategy including but not limited to, mine services, fuel bay/workshops, dewatering, paste fill reticulation, escapeway installations, ventilation and surface infrastructure to support underground.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date infrastructure schedule, with strict project delivery guidelines, actively tracking project costs and compliance with the capital budget.
  • Collaborate, implement and complete infrastructure projects, while working alongside stakeholder and business partner management teams.
  • Stakeholder engagement – communicate key information to relevant parties, working closely with the onsite Fixed Plant department.
  • Assist the planning team with level/area extraction plans as required.
Who Are We Looking For?

  • A motivated professional who thrives in a dynamic, team‑oriented environment.
  • A tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated competent report writing, presentation and communication skills to all levels of the business
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, design software (Deswik CAD preferred); scheduling software and PumpSim
  • Substantial underground practical engineering experience is essential
