Hours: 8.30am - 4.30pm (35 hours per week)

About our School

ISP School is an independent specialist provision serving children and young people (CYP) in Kent and Medway who live with their families, foster carers, or in residential children's homes.

Our school supports CYP with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

We are looking for an inspirational qualified teacher who has experience working with vulnerable children in school and preferably with some leadership experience to teach a range of subjects, to our small group of pupils ranging from KS3 to KS4 and assist with middle-level management with 50% teaching responsibilities.

We have high expectations of our pupils and adapt and build the curriculum around them. The school follows a primary approach so teachers should be prepared across the curriculum and key stages.

Role responsibilities
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to small groups of pupils following the school's plans, curriculum, and schemes of work
  • Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Support and develop other staff
  • Lead on teaching and learning and curriculum initiatives
  • Liaising with parents, external agencies, and a range of professionals
  • Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Successful teaching experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Qualified SENCO or experience is desirable
  • Primary/Nurture training
  • Proven ability to offer dynamic & engaging lessons
  • SEN Experience and a focus on nurture - SEMH/ASD.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs
