Join our dynamic Underwriting Governance team at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, where you will own and shape our global MGA & Facilities governance framework, ensuring strong oversight while enabling commercial execution within defined guardrails.

About the Role

As MGA & Facilities Lead Underwriting Governance, you own the global governance framework for MGAs and Facilities across Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, ensuring consistent and compliant execution across all Market Units and Lines of Business. Acting as the central point of expertise, you set clear standards and guardrails that enable strong commercial execution while ensuring governance expectations are embedded consistently across Underwriting, Operations, and other expert functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the global subject matter expert for MGA & Facilities governance
  • Own, maintain, and continuously evolve the Global MGA & Facilities Framework, including onboarding, renewals, audits, and outsourcing/compliance requirements
  • Serve as the primary interface for control and expert functions, embedding their requirements into the framework
  • Provide senior management with transparency on performance, profitability, risk trends and governance adherence
  • Oversee the onboarding, audits and renewals of MGAs and Facilities
  • Coordinate fronting arrangements for Business Unit Reinsurance, ensuring specific requirements fully embedded and adhered to
  • Provide hands‑on governance support and coaching to Underwriting and Operations teams to ensure consistent application of the framework
  • Identify improvement opportunities and drive efficiency, control and scalability enhancements
  • Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements and integrate them into processes and governance
  • Promote the effective use of technology and Generative AI to improve workflow efficiency, insights and reporting
About the Team

This MGA & Facilities Lead role is part of the Underwriting Governance Team within the Global Underwriting Centre (GUWC) at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. The GUWC is a global team of more than 50 professionals located across multiple locations, operating at the core of our underwriting function and reporting directly to the Corporate Solutions Chief Underwriting Officer.

About You

You bring deep expertise in MGA and Facilities governance, complemented by strong underwriting and leadership experience. You operate confidently in a global environment, influencing at all levels and navigating complex, cross‑functional environments.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements
  • 10+ years’ experience in dealing with MGAs and Facilities, with a strong focus on governance, oversight, risk and control
  • 10+ years’ experience as direct insurance Underwriter, preferably in Property or Casualty for mid‑large international clients
  • 5+ years' experience leading global teams and/or complex projects with experience working across global stakeholder groups such as Underwriting, Operations, Claims, Outsourcing, Legal, Compliance and Risk Management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance and outsourcing requirements relevant to MGAs and Facilities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to translate complex governance topics into clear, practical guidance
  • Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of underwriting profitability and performance levers
  • Demonstrated ability to bring forward new ideas to improve frameworks and processes
  • Strong affinity for technology and data, including familiarity with Generative AI applications
  • Experience in navigating evolving or ambiguous environments with high levels of ownership and resilience
  • Fluency in English, additional languages are a plus

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.

For London, the annual base salary range for this position is between GBP 112 000 and GBP 168 000 (for a full‑time role). The specific salary offered considers:

  • the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
  • the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.

In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance‑based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
