A leading construction company in the UK is seeking a Meter Technician to carry out surveys and install water meters. The role involves traveling to customer properties and providing excellent service while recording work using a tablet. Candidates should have a full UK driving licence and be comfortable with basic IT. This is an opportunity to contribute to water conservation and customer support, offering competitive pay and benefits including healthcare and holiday allowance.
We care about the environment - and if you do too, we'll have a lot in common
We're proud to be working with Affinity Water, who provide safe, high-quality drinking water to millions of people. As water resources become more stretched, smart metering is an important step in helping customers understand and manage their usage - and that's where you come in.
As a Meter Fitter, you'll be out and about in the community, visiting properties to carry out surveys and fit external water meters to existing fittings. No two days will be the same, and you'll be working in all weathers, so this role really suits someone who enjoys being outdoors and active.
You'll also be the friendly face of our work, making sure customers understand what's happening and feel supported throughout the process. Alongside your practical skills, you'll use a tablet to log your work, so being comfortable with basic IT is important.
You have a full UK driving licence, as travelling between sites is an essential part of the job. You are comfortable using basic IT systems, as you'll be working with a tablet daily. You enjoy speaking with people and providing great customer service, as you'll be engaging directly with customers at their properties. Just as importantly, you'll bring a positive approach to working outdoors in all weathers, as much of the role involves being active and on the move.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting customers, reducing water waste, and helping to protect this vital resource for the future.
