Help shape the commercial performance of a leading home fitness brand

At JTX Fitness, we’re driven by one simple mission: helping people achieve their fitness goals from the comfort of home. As one of the UK’s leading providers of premium home fitness equipment, we’re known for our product quality, outstanding service, and customer‑first mindset. We’re now looking for a commercially astute Merchandiser to play a key role in driving trading performance across a core product portfolio. If you’re analytical, data‑driven and thrive on turning insight into action, this is a brilliant opportunity to step up and make real commercial impact.

Tasks

The role

You’ll be at the heart of our trading decisions – owning forecasting, stock planning and performance analysis for your product ranges. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with Marketing, Product, Supply Chain and Technical teams to optimise trading outcomes, support new product launches and manage product lifecycles.

You’ll combine sharp commercial insight with hands‑on analysis to influence pricing, promotions and stock strategy – helping us deliver our sales, margin and availability goals.

What you’ll be doing:

Trading & performance

  • Lead weekly trade reviews, delivering clear insight and actionable recommendations.

  • Analyse weekly, monthly and seasonal performance to spot risks, opportunities and repeat‑order requirements.

  • Forecast sales using historical data, promotional plans and market trends.

  • Support delivery of sales, margin and stock KPIs across your ranges.

Stock optimisation

  • Manage stock levels to maximise availability while minimising overstock.

  • Support in‑season and pre‑season OTB planning through effective WSSI management.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth stock flow and timely deliveries.

Pricing & range optimisation

  • Drive pricing and promotional strategy through margin analysis and competitor benchmarking.

  • Provide commercial insight to inform range planning, sell‑through and lifecycle decisions.

  • Coordinate product phase‑in and phase‑out activity with Product and Marketing.

  • Monitor competitor and market activity to inform trading and buying decisions.

Collaboration & improvement

  • Support the execution of commercial strategies alongside the Head of Trading & Product.

  • Partner with Marketing and Product to align trading with campaigns and launches.

  • Help improve merchandising systems, reporting and processes to drive efficiency and performance.

Requirements

Experience

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser role within retail or e‑commerce.

  • Experience managing product ranges with £5m–£20m+ turnover.

  • Background in fitness, sports equipment, consumer electronics or home/lifestyle products is a bonus, but not essential.

Analytical & technical skills

  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail.

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, IF statements, scenario modelling).

  • Confident working with large data sets for forecasting, stock analysis and reporting.

  • Able to translate data into clear, commercially sound recommendations.

  • Experience contributing to monthly trade packs and post‑trade analysis.

Commercial mindset

  • Strong understanding of merchandising fundamentals: OTB, WSSI, sell‑through, markdowns, margin optimisation and product lifecycles.

  • Able to balance availability with stock efficiency.

  • Good awareness of seasonality, promotions and operational constraints such as shipping lead times.
