Job summary

A respected national social impact organisation is seeking a Mentor Advocate to support individuals in their journey towards personal change. This role focuses on providing one-to-one mentoring, behaviour change support, and advocacy. The successful candidate will help service users build confidence, set goals, and access needed services. Overview

Our client, a respected national social impact organisation, is recruiting a Mentor Advocate to support individuals across the community as they work towards positive personal change. This role is centred around one-to-one mentoring, behaviour change support, advocacy, and guiding people through challenging transitions.

You’ll be working directly with service users to help them build confidence, set personal goals, access services, overcome barriers, and move towards a safer and more stable future. Key Responsibilities
  • Creating positive, trusting mentoring relationships that inspire change.
  • Guiding and coaching individuals through their personal goals and challenges.
  • Supporting behaviour change through encouragement, motivation, and regular structured contact.
  • Delivering high quality advice, guidance and advocacy throughout the customer’s journey.
  • Tailoring interventions based on each individual’s needs, ambitions, and personal plan.
  • Providing a professional, consistent service that enables people to achieve meaningful outcomes.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams, partners and external agencies.
  • Contributing to service performance targets and promoting positive change across the service.
  • Supporting the wider organisation through accurate record-keeping and administrative tasks.
  • Sharing insight and specialist knowledge to support continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working in a mentoring, coaching, advocacy or support role.
  • Strong understanding of local services and community support networks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and guidance.
  • Case management experience and confidence working with diverse groups.
  • Ability to use initiative, solve problems and make sound judgments under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with people from all backgrounds.
  • Good IT skills and an ability to work with digital systems.
  • Personal resilience and the ability to remain calm in demanding situations.
