THE EMPLOYER IS: GROUNDWORKNIThe purpose of this role is to work as part of the Men’s Sheds team and help the team to communicate with Men’s Sheds, organise events for Men’s Sheds, maintain the database and develop creative assets.They will also undertake any other work appropriate with the evolving objectives of the post and as may reasonably be requested by the Management Team.In accordance with national provisions for the protection of children and adults at risk, applicants for jobs will be required to undergo Access NI checks with the Police Service for Northern Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Forwarding messages left for Men’s Sheds on our website to Men’s Sheds.
  • Liaising with sheds to help co-ordinate multi-shed training sessions.
  • Liaising with activity providers to organise delivery of training/sessions for sheds.
  • With support, updating and maintaining the Men’s Sheds database.
  • Ensuring invoices are added to the system in line with financial protocols.
  • With support, developing leaflets for Men’s Sheds on design software (Canva).
  • Supporting Men’s Shed team at in-person events with event set up, photography etc.
  • Supporting Men’s Sheds team to manage online events/ meetings as and when required.
Skills and Qualifications
  • The Men's Sheds Assistant will work well to deadlines.
  • They will have a commitment to self-development and have a strong personal commitment to the aims and objectives of Groundwork Northern Ireland.
  • Basic IT and administration tasks such as use of Outlook, document preparation and file management.
  • A willingness, curiosity, and an excitement to learn about community development work and Men's Sheds.
  • Ability to plan and manage workload effectively.
  • Someone who can adhere to all GWNI policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to undertake regular travel and to work out of office hours where necessary.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Awareness/knowledge of community work and supporting volunteers.
  • An interest in the environment and the work of Men's Sheds.
  • A full driving licence that enables the holder to drive in Northern Ireland and access to a car for official business (or access to a form of transport which will enable the applicant to meet the requirements of the post in full).
