Job description

Opened 2005

95 bedrooms

46‑seater Bar & Grill

3 private event spaces – largest seats up to 100

Housed in a former prison, the rooms in the hotel are rather more spacious than your average jail cell. Just 5 minutes from most of the city’s main attractions, this is without a doubt one of the most unique and thrilling hotels in the country. Home to Britain’s oldest university and the City of Dreaming Spires Oxford is a city rich with history and character. A visit to Oxford, which dates back to Saxon times, is a trip into the brains of a nation. Tour the hallowed halls of the university and follow in the footsteps of Prime Ministers, poets and the one and only Harry Potter. Take a tour of the Bodleian Library which is familiar to fans as Hogwarts, the Ashmolean Museum of Art & Archaeology – the first purpose‑built museum in England opened in 1683. Or wonder at the anthropology collections at the incredible Pitt‑Rivers Museum. To the east you’ll find the wooded wonderland of the Chilterns and to the west lies the idyllic Cotswolds.

About the Role

Meeting and Events Executive, Malmaison Oxford

It’s all in the detail. From a meeting for 6 guests to a 250‑cover wedding, it’s all in the detail and you make it happen.

We create memories that our guests never forget. At Malmaison we always go above and beyond expectations and as an Events Executive you will be the face of the business often before the guest steps foot in the hotel.

Experience in a similar role is beneficial but a smile and personality is an absolute must.

Do you want to be part of something different working with the best food, drink and a brand you can be proud of? We create memories that our guests never forget. This could be the next step for you into an Events Manager role; we actively encourage internal development and progression.

This is a hands‑on role leading the events and ensuring all meetings run smoothly – not your 9‑5 office role.

About You

We’re looking for someone with a strong organisational background, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and a professional, positive attitude are essential.

  • We work with Wagestream giving instant access to your pay as it’s earned.
