Job description

Responsible for coordinating and maintaining surgical schedules for the practice. Coordinates with hospitals to arrange for patient pre-op testing and medical clearances. Responsible for triaging phone calls appropriately and maintaining the Physician’s weekly schedule, including coordinating academic meetings and travel arrangements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains surgical schedules for the practice and obtains necessary authorizations.
  • Coordinates with hospitals to schedule and arrange all patient pre-op testing and medical clearances.
  • Triages patient phone calls for office visits, tests, surgeries, and other encounters.
  • Prepares patients’ charts and related records.
  • Contacts and confirms dates and times of procedures with patients.
  • Maintains Physician’s weekly schedule and coordinates academic meetings and travel arrangements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of six months of job-related experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to calculate and collect cash transactions.
