Job description
Job Summary

Are you a compassionate, detail-driven professional with a passion for making a real difference? We’re on the lookout for a highly organised Medical Secretary to become a vital part of our Integrated Front Door Team in the Urgent and Emergency Care Division.

In this dynamic role, you’ll be the heartbeat of our clinical operations, providing expert secretarial support to a team of General Practitioners (GPs), Consultants and their teams.

The Integrated Front Door (IFD) and Urgent Community Response Teams are multi‑agency and interdisciplinary teams working to prevent avoidable hospital admission and support complex discharge from hospital. They work in a seamless and integrated way across partner organisations, spanning health, social care and the voluntary sector, proactively case‑managing the needs of people with moderate and complex care needs and supporting them safely to transfer via the most appropriate discharge and community pathway. Urgent Community Response Teams offer rapid assessment and care to people in their own homes to prevent hospital admission and avoid further deterioration, working through a multi‑agency approach to ensure people receive the care and support needed upon discharge from the hospital setting.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will provide essential secretarial support to a range of General Practitioners, Consultants, and their teams across the community urgent care division, helping to ensure the smooth operation of our services and the delivery of high‑quality care.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a medical secretarial/administrative role, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Proficiency in medical terminology and IT systems is essential, along with a flexible, proactive attitude and a strong commitment to compassionate care.

In return, you’ll be part of a forward‑thinking, integrated team that values collaboration and innovation, with access to ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact in urgent community care, we would love to hear from you!
