Job summary

A leading testing organization is seeking a Medical Equipment Test Engineer to evaluate and test electrical medical products. The ideal candidate will have experience working with IEC 60601 and IEC 61010 standards, and will work closely with clients in the medical market. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a testing role for a test house or manufacturer.
  • Experience testing to IEC 61010 or IEC 60601 standards.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing principles.
  • Experience in an ISO 17025 laboratory setting is desirable.

Hours: Monday-Friday (days)

Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Test Engineer who specialises in Electrical Medical testing (IEC 60601/IEC 61010) to join a Global Testing organisation.

For this role, our client is looking for an individual who has worked for a test house or a manufacturer who has worked to the relevant standards.

Responsibilities
  • Working with a client base in the medical market.
  • Some of the core testing will include leakage current, dielectric strength, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazards & flammability.
  • Testing, evaluating and writing reports on electrical medical products.
  • Fault find down to component level.
  • Read the international (IEC) standards and codes for the products being tested—these specific standards will be IEC 60601 & IEC 61010.
  • Collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions, so that the information can be delivered to the client to ensure that their product is safe for market use.
  • Also deliver results to internal sales team in order to prepare quotations.
  • Attend customer meetings when required.
The Person
  • Previous similar experience working in a testing role for either a test house, manufacturer or a service engineer.
  • Previous testing experience to IEC 61010 or IEC 60601.
  • Experience of working in an ISO 17025 laboratory setting (desirable)
  • Working knowledge or experience of manufacturing principles
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
