A leading NHS trust in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Medical Engineer to join their Clinical Technology team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in an engineering subject and experience in medical technologies. Responsibilities include maintaining medical devices and providing technical support to clinical teams. This permanent position requires a valid UK driving licence. Training opportunities are available for less experienced candidates.

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. We are seeking a permanent engineer to support the existing teams in Clinical Technology. The successful applicant must have an engineering background with experience in engineering and maintenance. The position requires a minimum qualification of HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject and a valid full UK manual driving licence. Applicants who do not have the relevant experience/qualifications may apply and be considered for appointment as a Trainee Clinical Technologist; training and development will be provided to achieve practitioner level.
The department of Clinical Technology provides a comprehensive medical equipment management and maintenance service to the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) and external healthcare bodies. Based at both Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital, the department consists of multidisciplinary teams of medical engineers across renal, general medical, imaging, critical care and medical gases, providing medical equipment maintenance and support to services across the organisation and to other local healthcare providers.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved with a rapidly expanding service delivering essential technical support to clinical teams while ensuring best value from the significant investment in medical equipment at UHNM.
