Our client is a Tier 1 M&E Contractor with multiple offices in the UK. They have a great reputation for delivering building services projects across many sectors, including residential, healthcare, educational etc. With a robust portfolio of projects and having recently secured a sizeable residential project in Leeds centre, they are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer (N.B. electrically biased engineers will also be considered) to join their operational team.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to join our clients' team for a new residential project in Leeds centre. This exciting 18–month project will commence in February 2026 and presents an exceptional opportunity for a professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering to broaden their experience on a major new–build project – GBP17 million M&E value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities for the new build residential project.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met within budget and on schedule.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to facilitate seamless communication and project execution.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and project updates to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks and implement contingency plans as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience in managing large–scale mechanical engineering projects.
  • Previous experience working with Tier 1 construction companies is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong problem–solving abilities and attention to detail.
