Job description

Location: London Salary: Circa. £50k per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mechanical Bias Maintenance Technician to join an in-house facilities management team in London. This is a crucial role for a professional with a strong mechanical background who is committed to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all building services.

This is a static role with a core Monday to Friday schedule. However, the correct candidate must be adaptable and available to cover the shift team during periods of sickness or annual leave, which may include nights and weekends on the odd occassion.

Key Responsibilities
  • PPMs & Reactive Maintenance: You will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and reactive repairs on a wide range of essential mechanical plant and equipment.

  • HVAC Systems: You must be proficient in the service and maintenance of HVAC systems, including AHUs (Air Handling Units) and FCUs (Fan Coil Units). This involves tasks like filter changes, belt tensioning, and motor lubrication.

  • Chillers & Cooling Towers: Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on chiller units and cooling towers to ensure they are operating at peak efficiency.

  • Data Rooms: Be competent in maintaining cooling and ventilation systems within critical data rooms to ensure servers and equipment remain at a stable temperature.

  • Pumps: Service and maintain a variety of pumps (heating, chilled, and booster) and associated pipework.

  • General Building Services: Carry out a wide range of general building services and fabric maintenance, including basic plumbing, minor electrical fault-finding, and general repairs.

  • Compliance: Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and site-specific policies, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities and inspections on a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Candidate Profile
  • A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) is essential.

  • F-Gas Certificate (desirable)

  • You must have proven experience in a similar maintenance role, with proficiency in maintaining the systems listed above.

  • You should be a proactive problem-solver with exceptional fault-finding skills.

  • A flexible attitude and the ability to work occasional nights and weekends for shift cover is a must.

  • You must be an excellent communicator, capable of liaising professionally with colleagues and other contractors.
