A leading property maintenance company in London is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support academic and research facilities. This permanent, full-time position involves performing maintenance on mechanical systems and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety standards. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline, proven experience in building services, and strong communication skills. Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: South Kensington, London
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a busy property maintenance team supporting academic, research, and administrative facilities. This role involves working on a rotating 7-day shift pattern to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment
  • Ensure plant and assets remain fully operational through proactive servicing
  • Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards and complete risk assessments
  • Use CAFM systems for reporting and assist with stock control to minimize downtime
What We’re Looking For
  • Recognized apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline
  • IOSH Level 2 qualification
  • Proven experience in building services maintenance and mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and fault‑find effectively
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service
  • Computer literacy (MS Office; experience with Planon is a plus)
  • Physically fit to work at heights and in confined spaces

Experience with systems such as:
Hot water calorifiers, pumps, fans, steam and gas boilers, ventilation, compressed air, chillers, heat pumps, district heating, and more
