Job summary

A leading aerospace firm is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to conduct visual and dimensional inspections at supplier facilities. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in aerospace or military/defense, proficiency with inspection tools, and knowledge of GD&T. This role requires traveling to various locations, and candidates must be able to report findings online using personal devices. This is an ongoing contract with flexible hours based on supplier needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections per AS9102 Rev B or C.

Responsibilities

Job Description
  • The quality inspector - Mechanical, shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
  • Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications.
  • The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application.
Requirements
  • Candidate must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies.
  • Candidate must have minimum of 3 years' experience performing inspections in aerospace or military / defense manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
  • Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering including but not limited to; drawing, parts lists, specification, purchase orders (POs), etc.
  • The candidate must have experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges height gauges, CMM, and hardness testers.
  • Materials Such As: Steels, Aluminum, Nickel, Brass, Copper, Nylon, Teflon, Tubing
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 Rev B knowledge is required, AS9102 Rev C, is a plus.
  • Candidate must have and be willing to use personal cell phone and personal laptop to support inspection reporting requirements while onsite at supplier(s) facility.
  • Must be computer savvy and willing to use Verify Global web based email account when working for Verify.
  • Must be Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Completed Eye Exam based on program requirements.
