Overview

Role: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Port Talbot or Preston (2 roles available, preference for Port Talbot)

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am till 5pm and Friday 6am till 2pm - Must be able to work away from home around the UK between 5 to 10 nights at a time

Salary: GBP36,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Responsibilities

• Installing, assembling, and maintaining heavy-duty mechanical systems.
• Carrying out mechanical fault finding, repairs, and upgrades.
• Working alongside electrical and engineering teams to ensure specifications are met.
• Adhering to strict safety protocols and quality standards.
• Travelling within and outside the UK for project requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial/mechanical fitting.
• CSCS Blue Card (essential).
• Ability to pass DBS and security vetting for military sites.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.
