Qualifications

  • Must possess strong experience in an automated production environment.
  • Skilled in welding and fabricating.
  • Good knowledge of CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical repairs, fabrication, and welding.
  • Support rapid response to engineering faults.
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings for reference.
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks.

Location: Coventry

Shift: Days (Mon-Fri)

Salary: £47,800 per annum

Job Profile

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will design, modify and maintain mechanical equipment on site. Your work will focus on delivering safe, hygienic and reliable engineering solutions that keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, fabrication and welding to minimise breakdowns
  • Support rapid response to engineering faults across production lines
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings for reference and future projects
  • Machine parts for stock to reduce dependence on external suppliers
  • Complete preventative maintenance and quality assurance checks
  • Inspect equipment and diagnose potential issues before failure
  • Prioritise and complete work assignments quickly and efficiently
  • Work closely with manufacturing, production and quality teams
  • Follow all health & safety and food safety procedures
  • Provide clear reporting on completed work and outstanding tasks
Experience
  • Time-served mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Strong experience in an automated production environment
  • Skilled welder (TIG, MIG, ARC) and trained fabricator
  • Machining skills (lathe and milling)
  • Good CAD knowledge
