Mechanical Estimator

Location: Derby / Derbyshire Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 DOE + Car / Allowance

A Derbyshire-based, family-run Building Services Contractor specialising in Commercial and Industrial projects across the Midlands is looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator as part of continued growth.

The Role
  • Preparing mechanical estimates for commercial projects ranging from £50k to £2m
  • Assessing and managing key supply chain partners in line with strict tender requirements
  • Evaluating tenders and advising key commercial and technical information to Directors
  • Ensuring estimating procedures are followed and inputting data into estimating software
  • Full responsibility for tender documentation and preparation, including reading drawings and specifications
  • Producing enquiry packages and managing the tender process with sub-contractors, suppliers, and wholesalers
  • Ensuring all tenders follow company procedures and deadlines
Requirements
  • Previous experience with a building services contractor or consultancy, either in estimating or a technical mechanical role
  • Suitable backgrounds include:
    • Junior Mechanical Estimator
    • Mechanical Estimator
    • M&E Estimator
    • Building Services Estimator
    • Mechanical Design Estimator
    • Trainee Mechanical Estimator
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Basic mechanical design knowledge
  • Confident using Excel, Word, Outlook, estimating software, and general IT systems
  • Motivated individual keen to develop long-term within estimating
