Overview

Mechanical Engineering Design Technician - 2 Posts

Building & Design Services are Hull City Councils Construction Design Consultancy Department providing a comprehensive range of construction design services which cover Operational, Commercial, Corporate, and Housing portfolios and include architecture, building and quantity surveying, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering, landscape architecture, statutory compliance, property maintenance, asset management and land surveying.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the production of mechanical building service design projects including design calculations, CAD drawings, and ensuring contractual works and service delivery are maintained and upheld.
  • Undertake surveys and provide asset condition reports.
  • Draft technical designs, prepare estimates, review risk assessments and method statements, and prepare technical specifications.
  • Supervise, guide, and instruct contractors.
  • Consult with relevant parties to identify needs and support the implementation of replacement and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
Qualifications and experience
  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of the associated legislation, British Standards, and Building Regulations.
  • This post would be ideal for a mechanical services engineer with experience of building services installations who is keen to progress into a supervisory and advisory role.
