Job summary

A leading kitchen supplier is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for weekend shifts to drive maintenance improvements and enhance equipment reliability. Responsibilities include proactive maintenance and ownership of production line maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a recognised engineering apprenticeship and strong maintenance experience within manufacturing environments. The position offers a competitive salary with additional shift allowances and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Strong background in maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within a proactive safety-focused culture.
  • Experience maintaining multi-axis (CNC) manufacturing machinery.
  • Knowledge of high-volume automated manufacturing equipment.

Job description
Mechanical Engineer – Weekend

As a weekend mechanical engineer, you will work on a range of manufacturing processes and equipment. Your objective will be to drive maintenance improvements and enhance equipment reliability across our operations.

Responsibilities
  • Proactive and preventative maintenance
  • Reactive breakdown maintenance
  • Continual improvement projects
  • Ownership and development of specific production line maintenance
Qualifications
  • Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
  • Strong background in maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within a proactive safety-focused culture
  • Experience maintaining multi-axis (CNC) manufacturing machinery
  • Knowledge and experience of high-volume automated manufacturing equipment, along with fitting and fabrication skills
  • Fault finding, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Experience of pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics and extraction systems (desirable)
  • Experience of computerised maintenance management systems and development of maintenance tasks (desirable)
Shift Pattern
  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday every third week (5:45 am – 6 pm)
  • Could be asked to work different shift patterns depending on the company's demand
Benefits
  • Pay rate: £49,263.24 per annum + Weekend Shift Allowance £9,647.04 per annum
