The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of delivering cutting-edge supportability solutions for one of the UK’s most advanced naval programmes. This is your chance to make a real impact, helping ensure the reliability and sustainability of critical defence assets while developing your own expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Day-to-day, you’ll carry out a varied key role, working in a fast paced environment where you’ll be a vital part in developing Integrated Product Support (IPS) solutions for a new build Warship programme.

  • Conduct availability, reliability, maintainability and sustainability analysis and modelling.
  • Deliver and support Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities for new-build warships.
  • Collaborate with partners, customers and internal teams to produce IPS artefacts and deliverables.
  • Provide technical input into maintenance schedules and spares planning.
  • Ensure compliance with S-Series standards and programme requirements.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Mechanical Engineer
  • Prior experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Operated at Engineer level with expertise in IPS and supportability.
  • Knowledge of S-Series standards and ARM modelling software.
  • Strong communication skills - customer-facing experience is beneficial.
Qualifications for the Mechanical Engineer
  • NVQ Level 3 qualified or above in electrical or mechanical

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
