Job summary

A leading subsea engineering business in Newcastle is seeking a Mechanical Technician for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will assemble various Mechanical and Hydraulic Equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards. Previous experience and relevant qualifications are essential for this role, offering an hourly rate of £20. This position is full-time, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
• Experience in heavy engineering assembly environment is preferred.

• Assemble large steel fabrications and hydraulic equipment.
• Follow parts list and drawings to assemble work.

Overview

Role: Mechanical Technician

Location: Newcastle (12 Month FTC)

Hours: Monday-Friday (40 Hours per week)

Hourly rate: £20 Per Hour

GPS are looking for experienced Mechanical technicians to work for a leading subsea engineering business in Newcastle for 12 months. Successful candidates will be responsible for the assembly of a range of Mechanical/Hydraulic Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work to allocated tasks in line with the Production MPS.
• Possess an understanding of the requirements for the correct assembly of large steel fabrications and associated ancillary equipment including hydraulic equipment i.e. cylinders and operating systems.
• Correctly assemble work from a parts list and drawings.

Skills / Experience Required

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential
• HNC or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience of operating in a heavy engineering assembly environment safely and effectively
