Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Dronfield Heavy Manufacturing / Foundry Environment
Salary: Circa £55,000 + bonus
Shift Pattern: Panama / rotating shifts

The Role

We're recruiting a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a busy heavy manufacturing / foundry operation. This is a hands‑on role covering both planned and reactive maintenance, fault‑finding, and continuous improvement across a wide range of plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer
  • Carry out planned (TPM) and reactive maintenance to a high standard
  • Fault‑find and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • Diagnose recurring breakdowns and support root cause analysis
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Skills & Experience of the Mechanical Engineer
  • Time‑served apprenticeship and/or HNC level qualification (LEVEL 3 MINIMUM)
  • Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing or foundry environments
  • Strong fault‑finding capability
  • Good knowledge of plant equipment and industrial machinery
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics experience essential (including reading drawings)
