Overview

Join ENGIE/First Hydro Company in nurturing the future of sustainable energy. We're embarking on an exciting £600m+ refurbishment of the iconic Dinorwig Power Station, one of the UK's most inspiring infrastructure projects. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll contribute to ensuring the safe operation, engineering integrity, and performance of our assets while being part of this landmark initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and facilitation of plant refurbishment, maintenance, and replacement projects
  • Provision of expert mechanical engineering insights and development of innovative solutions
  • Implementation of residual life assessments and risk management for plant equipment
  • Resolution of plant-level challenges to enhance performance
  • Contribution to developing and implementing maintenance and asset management strategies
  • Partnership with diverse teams across the business
  • Adherence to statutory requirements and local procedures
  • Support in budget compilation and resource allocation
Your Profile
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in mechanical engineering within the power industry
  • Experience in contract management and roles such as Technical Officer
  • IOSH Managing Safety certification
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Chartered Engineer status (desirable)
  • Understanding of health, safety, and relevant legislation in the power sector
