Overview
Mechanical Design Engineer required for a pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be designing and developing mechanical engineering aspects of complex machinery to a project specification and in line with project schedules, technical regulations and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Confer with engineers, customers and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
- Design, implement, maintain and improve process equipment, components, products and systems.
- Operate computer–assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Direct and co‑ordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities to ensure compliance with all mechanical aspects of specifications, codes and customer requirements.
- Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish process compliance relating to site installations, industry standards and specifications.
- Prepare specifications for purchase of mechanical materials and equipment.
- Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience within a similar role.
- Previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry (desirable).
- Organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Excellent IT skills including MS Office.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary dependent on experience but likely GBP40k–GBP50k.
- Hybrid working arrangement.
- Monday–Friday with a 1pm Friday finish.
- 25 days plus Bank Holidays (we do operate a Christmas shutdown that uses 3 of these days).
- 4% Employer & 4% Employee pension (Legal & General).
- RAC cover.
- Death in Service (x4).
