Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Gwynedd. The successful candidate will be involved in concept design, producing technical drawings, and liaising with manufacturing providers. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree, CAD software proficiency, and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Competitive salary from GBP35,000 to GBP50,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in Design Engineering/CAD Operation.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings.
• Liaise with manufacturing providers.
• Involve in final assembly of products.
• Create documentation for design and project reports.
• Update 3D models and drawings.
• Input parts into the MRP system and create BOMs.
• Check drawings for sign off.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team on varied projects.

JOB– Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION– Gwynedd
TERM– Permanent
SALARY– GBP35,000 – GBP50,000, dependent on experience

My client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Gwynedd area. They are an expert in their field and provide Engineering solutions to a variety of industries.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

• HNC/HND/ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
• Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
• Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor etc.
• Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Proficient using MS Office
• Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
• Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi–disciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
