Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Coventry

Salary: £28,000 - £34,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are working with a leading manufacturer of industrial equipment. Their team designs and manufactures all equipment in-house, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing design team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 3D models using SolidWorks.
  • Produce accurate 2D fabrication and assembly drawings.
  • Review and prepare drawing documentation.
  • Develop technical documentation in line with departmental procedures.
  • Provide technical support internally and externally.
  • Maintain internal record systems and drawing logs.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys for new projects.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering (Degree, HNC, A‑Level, or equivalent).
  • Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and drawing.
  • Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Key competencies: creativity, teamwork, communication.
  • Ability to commute (Full UK driving licence preferred).
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Draftsight.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, steel fabrication).
  • Experience with industrial pipework (flanges, fittings).
  • Ability to survey and measure accurately.
