Salary: up to £50,000

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business specialising in bespoke solutions for the packaging and production sector. This is a hands‑on role where you will be involved in the complete design process from concept through to production, creating innovative, efficient, and cost-effective mechanical designs that deliver real results.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
• Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications
• Collaborate with production and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Identify and resolve design challenges with practical solutions
• Manage design projects independently while contributing effectively within a team environment

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Proficiency in CAD design (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Ability to manage projects from concept to completion
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Self‑motivated, with a proactive and professional approach

Desirable

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
• Experience working with conveyors, machinery, or food/beverage packaging equipment
• Background in a small to medium‑sized engineering environment
