Job Title: Design Engineer

Location: Barnsley

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum

Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering company based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong design background and experience in developing jigs and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs (preferably using Creo or equivalent CAD software)
• Develop and control jigs and fixtures for manufacturing and assembly processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with project objectives
• Create and maintain technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and specifications
• Support continuous improvement activities related to product design and manufacturing efficiency

Requirements:

• Experience in 2D and 3D CAD design – Creo or similar software
• Strong mechanical design background with a focus on jigs and fixtures
• Good understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
