Job description

We are working for a specialist engineering company for a Mechanical Assembler/Fitter on a full-time permanent basis, based onsite on the Powys/Herefordshire border. You will work within a small engineering team producing complex, high-quality mechanical equipment for specialist applications.

What You Can Expect
  • Full‑time, permanent employment basis
  • A site‑based role located in Mid Wales, commutable from surrounding areas across Powys, Shropshire and Herefordshire.
  • Salary: Competitive based on experience
  • Working hours of 39 hours per week – Monday to Thursday: 08:00-17:00 and Friday 08:00-16:00

What You Will Be Doing
  • Assembling complex mechanical equipment to a high standard of quality and safety.
  • Working from engineering drawings and standardised work instructions to ensure accurate build and fit.
  • Installing and integrating hydraulic systems as part of mechanical assemblies.
  • Supporting mechanical build activities across a range of bespoke products.
  • Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with internal quality standards.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues to meet production schedules and delivery targets.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times.
What We Are Looking For
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting or mechanical assembly within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • A strong background in vehicle mechanics and/or mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems would be advantageous, with training available where required.
  • Ability to interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings.
  • A methodical, safety‑conscious approach to hands‑on mechanical work.
  • A team‑oriented individual who takes pride in delivering high‑quality output.
  • Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and the ability to reliably commute to the site location.
