A leading technology firm in the UK is seeking a specialist to support the delivery of Maritime Battlestaff training and assurance exercises in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will manage the configuration and deployment of synthetic environments, ensuring timely project milestones, while developing training materials and leading a delivery team. QinetiQ Training & Simulation Ltd (QTSL) specialises in the development of a wide variety of interesting, bespoke software solutions across a wide range of technology including Artificial Intelligence, AR and VR technologies and mathematical modelling, to support current MOD requirements as well as undertaking research for the next generation of simulation systems to support UK force development. Activities include software development, support to training, technology research and experimentation into how the Military can best use simulation/synthetic environments. The role is to support the delivery of Maritime Battlestaff (MBS) training and assurance exercises in Portsmouth, other locations in the UK and overseas utilising the latest synthetic environments and technologies to create a fully immersive and engaging exercise environment. It also provides interface to MBS participation in Tier 3 exercises run by other organisations with the potential to stretch to join Tier 4 exercises.
Responsibilities include leading the configuration, setup, testing and deployment of the synthetic environment to support exercise delivery activities, providing regular progress reports to project management and ensuring project milestones are delivered on time. You will also manage technical tasks and resources, and ensure safe completion of all simulation activities within cost and quality standards for the duration of the contract.
