Role: Maths Teacher (KS3 and KS4)

Location: Aylesbury (Buckinghamshire)

Part-time Full-Time

Start: September 2025

£29,344 - £44,919

The school:

This school is looking for a Maths Teacher to assist with this specialist position. The ideal candidate:

  1. Curriculum Planning and Development:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging maths curriculum that aligns with the educational standards and objectives
  • Create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities within the classroom
  • Classroom Instruction:
    • Deliver effective and stimulating maths lessons to secondary school students
    • Utilise a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student understanding and engagement
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active student participation and collaboration
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Regularly assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods
    • Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance and guide them towards improvement
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student grades and achievements
  • Differentiation and Individualised Instruction:
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of ability and learning styles
    • Provide additional support or challenges for students as needed to ensure academic success for all
  • Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, upcoming events, and classroom activities
    • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and address any concerns
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in mathematics education
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge

    Requirements

    • Bachelor s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master s degree is a plus)
    • Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on maths
    • Proven experience teaching maths at the secondary school level
    • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment methods
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Passion for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment
    • Enhanced DBS Certificate
