About the role

TeacherActive is proud to partner with a fantastic SEND provision based in Assington. The school follows a varied curriculum to suit the needs of the young people. Underpinning this, is the consistent teaching of people skills, and guidance to assist children develop their social, emotional, and personal abilities. The school is looking to take on a permanent SEND Maths Teacher from ASAP on a full-time basis. The successful SEND teacher will be working directly with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, whose ages range from yrs. Most of the young people are diagnosed with either Autism / ASD, Learning Difficulties / LD or Attention Deficit Disorder / ADD.

Responsibilities

• The successful SEND Teacher will be working directly with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting learners with Autism/ASD, LD or ADD/ADHD.
• Deliver Maths instruction as part of an SEND provision, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists and SEN coordinators to implement individualised education plans.
• Promote social, emotional and personal development through curriculum and therapeutic practices where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with additional needs, specifically ASD, SLD, PMLD, ADD, ADHD
• Experience supporting children through therapeutic practices
