Overview

Materials Planning Manager – Food Manufacturing – Leeds

Major Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business in the UK, which is looking for a Materials Planning Manager. As a Materials Planning Manager, you will ensure the timely and controlled availability of packaging materials and products to support the production function. There is a full-time on-site role with the flexibility to work from home on a Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, lead and manage the Material Planning team - Drive the team's best practice, appraisal, mid-year reviews and personal development plans
  • Development of supplier performance monitoring systems and continuous improvement programmes
  • Review all stock replenishment systems & processes with continuous improvement methodology
  • First escalation point for poor supplier performance/supply shortage
  • Develop & maintain stock replenishment KPI Dashboard and communicate to key stakeholders
  • Placing contracts (4-13 Weeks Demand) & call-offs (1-3-week demand) to cover forecasted volume and production plans
  • Collaborating with Supply planning, Demand planning, PLM & Commercial to ensure all information is correct and present to enable call-offs and contracts to be accurate and timely
  • Full end-to-end management of suppliers covering short- & long-term demand, expedition of materials where appropriate, chasing of short or late deliveries and any other queries that could arise in the day-to-day management of the suppliers
  • Support S&OP / Mini S&OP process where necessary
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing
  • Leadership experience
  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data in a simple and easy-to-understand format
  • Experience in scheduling, planning or a related area, with strong knowledge of SAP/ERP/MRP systems
