MASH Social Worker - Bury Council

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester (Hybrid)

Team: Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

Contract Type: Locum / Agency

Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker with strong assessment and decision-making skills?

Bury Council is seeking a skilled MASH Social Worker to join their busy and supportive Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub.

You will be at the front door of children's social care, making crucial decisions to safeguard and protect children across the borough. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where your professional judgement will directly influence outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

Responsibilities
  • Screen and triage new referrals coming into the MASH
  • Gather and analyse information from partner agencies to inform decision making
  • Assess risk and determine appropriate levels of intervention
  • Provide clear recommendations and outcomes in line with statutory thresholds
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings
  • Work closely with Police, Health, Education and Early Help professionals within the MASH
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Post-qualifying experience within a MASH, Duty & Assessment or Front Door service
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds and statutory guidance
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
