Job Overview
The Oncology business unit in Pfizer is dedicated to developing innovative cancer medicines and Biosimilars with the aim of improving outcomes for patients across a number of tumour types, for example Breast, Lung, Urological and Haematological cancers. The UK marketing team is an essential part of this unit, developing brand strategy and marketing programmes through close collaboration with our medical and sales colleagues to market our medicines and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver brand plans.
- Manage materials in our Global Content Management system (GCMA).
- Support marketing and the Omnichannel team in the development and delivery of defined activities and developments of our digital journey.
- Input into the design of materials for healthcare professionals and patients.
- Gather insights on the market environment for our medicines portfolio.
- Comprehend the ABPI code and promote compliance improvement within the Oncology BU.
- Contribute to cross‑business‑unit projects to support Pfizer's Corporate Responsibility and gain a better understanding of the pharma industry.
- Commit personal study time and ensure travel to the workplace.
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) including mathematics and English.
- Minimum of 80 UCAS points from at least 2 A Level subjects (or equivalent).
- Other marketing or relevant business management qualifications is preferred.
- Understanding of simple marketing principles (e.g., 4 Ps; Product, Price, Promotion, Place, Boston Matrix) and a basic appreciation of pharmaceutical marketing with an interest in rare disease medicines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Good presentation skills – able to present complex information in an understandable and stimulating way, whether through verbal presentation or written copy.
- Interest in AI applications in marketing (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or generative tools for content creation).
- Awareness of ethical considerations in AI and data use.
