Overview
The role’s primary focus is supporting recruitment and marketing activity for Medicine and Health, with opportunities across other Colleges and Schools. Candidates must be confident communicators with excellent copy‑writing, proofreading and editing skills, experience producing marketing material, strong organisational abilities and teamwork.
Purpose of the Job
To work collaboratively with the College Marketing Manager, delivering recruitment and marketing activity across School subjects, chiefly Medicine & Health. Responsibilities include developing online content that supports the student recruitment journey, producing written narratives, video and photography, and updating course information online.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with School Marketing Leads to develop, monitor and deliver a wide range of recruitment activities.
- Produce accurate, informative and interesting content for marketing campaigns, involving copy‑writing, editing and proofreading.
- Support the updating and maintenance of College online course information and supporting information for the University website and external websites.
- Create visual content including video and photographs that tell the College/School story while complying with the University’s corporate brand identity.
- Produce marketing assets required by the line manager, ensuring alignment with the University’s marketing and brand strategies.
- Work with colleagues to monitor campaigns, activities, ROI and engagement levels.
- Coordinate and track digital engagement campaigns and activities with colleagues and external partners.
- Collaborate with external agencies to produce marketing assets and collateral.
- Assist the College Marketing Manager with the production of subject‑related visual assets for student recruitment.
- Produce engaging social media content, brief and facilitate student content creation.
- Compile and deliver recruitment cycle reports with the College Marketing Manager and team.
- Conduct desk research into competitors, analysing website content and summarising findings.
- Support academics in engaging with schools and colleges to aid student recruitment.
- Support the clearing process as part of the wider Recruitment Team.
- Provide cross‑section support on events and activities related to UK recruitment and widening participation, including attending University open days, UCAS fairs and delivering presentations.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Training
- Essential: Educated to A level or NVQ level 4 in a relevant subject area or possess equivalent experience (e.g., media, marketing, student recruitment or PR).
- Desirable: Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject area; evidence of continuing professional development.
Experience / Knowledge
- Essential: Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Welsh, with an aptitude for marketing communications.
- Experience producing marketing material/assets with strong copy‑writing, proofreading, editing and grammatical skills.
- Understanding of digital marketing and its contribution to the communications mix.
- Proficiency with IT tools (Word, Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, content management systems, digital engagement platforms, etc.).
- Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues.
- Enthusiastic and motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Available to work required hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Desirable: Experience in a similar role within higher education; working with external agencies; writing for diverse audiences; filming, editing photographs and videos; willingness to learn and develop skillsets.
