Overview

Hertfordshire's Family Centre Service brings together the Public Health Nursing Service (Health Visitors and School Nurses) and the Family Support Service to ensure that children and families have the best start in life, thrive, and reach their full potential. The Family Support Service offers a wide range of services, information, and support to families from pregnancy until a child turns 5, covering all aspects of family life. We are looking for a passionate and driven Marketing and Communications Lead to head our Marketing and Communications Team. This role will play a key part in developing and implementing an effective communication strategy that supports both the Family Support Service and the wider objectives of One YMCA. As Marketing and Communications Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and delivery of all marketing campaigns and promotional content, both digital and offline. You will ensure that all materials align with the Hertfordshire County Council's Family Centre Service brand guidelines and meet the needs of local families.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns that support the Family Support Service's goals.
  • Ensure all promotional materials (digital and offline) align with brand guidelines and meet the needs of our service users.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging, family-focused content.
  • Drive awareness and engagement through targeted communication strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
About the Family Support Service

The Family Support Service is part of the Hertfordshire Family Centre Service. We offer support, advice and guidance for families from pregnancy through to when a child reaches the end of Primary School (11 years old). Our purpose is to support families to receive seamless integrated services, support and information on key areas relating to family life. This is provided through universal services, where there are emerging needs, along with when more specialist or 1:1 support would be beneficial. Services can be delivered through 1:1, group sessions and activities, accessed within centres, community venues or support workers will visit families within their homes to ensure individual family's needs are met.

  • Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people.
  • Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living.
  • Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers.
  • Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire.
  • Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children.
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire.
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire.
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund.
  • A community gym where everyone can enjoy the benefits of physical exercise.
Geographical Coverage

Our geographical area includes Broxbourne, East Herts and Welwyn and Hatfield Districts (the East Quadrant of Hertfordshire). With our purpose being to support children and families to have the best start in life, develop well and thrive.

Qualifications
  • A recognised marketing qualification (e.g., CIM Level 4 or Level 6), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven digital marketing experience (essential).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a car during working hours, with business-use insurance, and the willingness to travel regularly.
Additional Information
  • This is an on-site role (5 days a week), with job share options considered.
  • The successful candidate must be willing to travel and work at one of our Family Centre locations in Hertfordshire, including Broxbourne, Dacorum, East Herts, Hertsmere, North Herts, St Albans, Stevenage, Welwyn & Hatfield, Three Rivers, and Watford.

  • Interviews will take place on Monday 19th January between 9am - 5pm.
  • Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship and can only accept applications from individuals who already have the right to work in the UK.
  • As some roles involve working with vulnerable people, a Basic or Enhanced DBS check may be required following a conditional job offer.
