Job description
Overview

Job description: As a marine insurance professional, you combine technical aspects of a typical Account Handler/Technical role with the placing side—dealing with insurers and markets while delivering results for clients. You enjoy variety across responsibilities rather than being fixed to a single team. You are interested in a strong market salary up to £70k. An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a household marine broker in London as a Marine Account Handler/Broker. As a Marine Cargo Broker/Account Handler, you will help place cargo and stock throughput business emanating from the US/Canada, deal with markets, and build relationships with clients. You will also service enquiries, produce slips/endorsements, and policy documentation.

On offer is a salary up to £70k, plus bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. Typically, individuals work on a hybrid arrangement (3 days in, 2 days from home), but this can be tailored to suit.

Responsibilities
  • Place cargo and stock throughput business emanating from the US/Canada, dealing with markets, and building relationships with clients.
  • Service enquiries, produce slips/endorsements and policy documentation.
  • Operate in a hybrid role with involvement in multiple areas rather than a single team.
  • Engage in project cargo where opportunities arise and contribute to expansion plans; potential for senior opportunities in the team.
  • Maintain full client interaction and collaborate within a flat structure with access to management.
Qualifications
  • Experience in cargo insurance broking market is preferred, but candidates from other marine lines will be considered.
  • Interest in cargo/stock throughput and ability to work in a team of 10+ in a collaborative, trusting environment.
  • CV readiness is helpful; confidential chats are welcome for more information.
Additional information

An opportunity may arise for involvement in project cargo; with plans to expand over the next few years, other senior opportunities may develop within the team.
