Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly and bonding processes.
  • Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for generating 2D technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and managing BOMs.
  • Experience or knowledge of composite processing is advantageous.
  • Security Clearance (SC) required to start.

Manufacturing Engineer

Hourly Rate: £30 - £40 (Umbrella)

Location: Bedfordshire

Duration: 5 months (Inside IR35)

Hours: 37.5 per week | (Monday - Thursday)

A great opportunity has arisen for experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join a leading defence and technology programme on a 5-month contract. You'll play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes across the full product lifecycle from design and prototype through to full-rate production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and layouts using lean principles.
  • Define operational sequences, process flows, and material handling methods.
  • Create and manage manufacturing documentation, BOMs, and routings.
  • Identify tooling and fixture requirements to improve production capability.
  • Drive “right first time” quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to achieve programme goals.
Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly and bonding processes.
  • Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for generating 2D technical drawings.
  • Solid understanding of MRP/ERP systems and experience managing BOMs and routings (SAP or similar preferred).
  • Experience or knowledge of composite processing is advantageous.
  • Security Clearance (SC) required to start.
