A UK government agency is seeking a Managing Director for Financing Strategy to shape and deliver the UK Government's debt and cash management strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will co-lead the Financing Strategy function, shaping and delivering the UK Government’s debt and cash management strategy.
The DMO is an Executive Agency of HM Treasury, responsible for managing the Government’s debt and cash, administering local authority lending, and overseeing certain public sector funds. Since its inception in 1998, the DMO has raised over £3.7 trillion in gilt issuance and manages annual cash operations exceeding £5 trillion.
The Financing Strategy area plays a central role in delivering the DMO’s mandate, with responsibilities spanning debt issuance, cash management, policy development, investor engagement, and strategic research.
You will be a key member of the Executive Committee and Advisory Board, contributing to strategic decision-making across the organisation and representing the DMO at the highest levels externally, ensuring that its reputation for professional excellence, integrity and cooperation is maintained and enhanced.

We are seeking an accomplished senior leader with a deep understanding of financial markets, particularly in fixed income and sovereign debt. You will bring strategic insight into public debt management, liquidity risk, and the implementation of monetary policy, alongside a proven track record of delivering high-quality policy advice and leading complex market operations.
Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively—especially when distilling technical issues for senior stakeholders—will be essential. You will be a collaborative leader, capable of inspiring specialist teams and working seamlessly across organisational boundaries.
